Het is me gelukt! Oh en toch wel zo blij met het resultaat! Ik heb wel vaker iets i
n mijn hoofd maar het resultaat is niet altijd precies wat ik bedacht had. Dit keer niet, dit keer ging het me toch ineens goed af!
Ik haakte een etui met een steek die ik al een tijdje wilde uitproberen. Het begon met een goed gelukt proeflapje, ik haakte er nog een en naaide hem aan elkaar. Een rits erin zou wel makkelijk zijn bedacht ik me… het duurde even met het afgelopen warme weer voor ik de naaimachine van boven haalde, toch altijd weer een gedoe dat op en neer gaan omdat je net dat ene garen boven hebt liggen of net de schaar boven had gebruikt terwijl je beneden aan de gang wilt gaan. Nu dit kleine projectje is gelukt en ik er weer zin in heb gekregen toch maar besloten een klein hoekje voor mezelf beneden in te richten, zoveel efficienter!
Maar goed nu dus even terug naar het gelukte projectje, zie hier het resultaat! Ik gebruikte precies 1 bolletje muskat, een rits en een stukje stof, moet bekennen dat dit de 2e rits was de eerste was na 3 keer opnieuw stikken en uit te halen niet echt meer te gebruiken! De steek is de manden steek, er zijn hiervoor online veel tutorials te vinden. Het is makkelijk niet teveel nadenken steek, heerlijk als ik voor de gezelligheid eens half een film mee zit te kijken!
De naaimachine mag wat mij betreft wel beneden blijven staan, nu dit projectje is gelukt heb ik zin in meer! Tja en zo ontstaan dus blijkbaar al die hobbies!
Ha!! I did it! and I could not be happier with the result! I often have something in mind, something I saw online or in a store and think ugh how hard can it be I can make that! But that “how hard can it be” often turns out quite a bit harder than I thought.
Then there are the small projects that almost accidentally work out, super cute and easy! When I was going through my crochet books I saw this stitch that I have been wanting to try out for a while, no better time than the present so I sat myself outside on a warm summer evening and started this sample piece. This piece turned out too nice to remain as just another sample in my basket so I decided to hook up a second one and sew them together, together they would make a cute little zipper pouch. Now I have tried to make zipper pouches before and they did not turn out so great, somehow I just never really get that end of the zipper to look very nice. It always looks a bit bulky, uneven or with a gap… Picky as I am I will keep poking it until in the end it falls apart.
After a few failed attempts I felt it could not be that hard and I just would have to take it slow and hand stitch that monster if I had too! So I did, I took my sowing machine downstairs and started measuring and cutting the fabric. My first attempt failed terribly, somehow I managed to attach all 4 fabric pieces to one side of the zipper, I can tell you that does not create a pouch!
Then there was Youtube to the rescue, I watched tutorials and read up on some blog articles. It really helped me to get the zipper in nearly perfect! I say nearly as still I think the end could be a bit cleaner, maybe with some fabric at the end to make it look nicer. Also I may have stitched a little too close to the zipper so it opens a bit tight, this all being said by the perfectionist in me!
All in all a super cute handmade little project and with my sewing machine now out and downstairs I think this may just be the start of a new romance!
